Come see some of the best orienteering terrain in Prince William Forest (National) Park! While winter conditions may prevail for better or worse, course setter Martin Fahrenfield has designed a full set of seven courses well matched to the venue. Dress warmly enough, and be aware that the only pavilion we are allowed to use in this area is an open one.

Any youth or large groups attending, please contact the Event Director so that we can coordinate pre-registration for your group; the group registration and waiver form is part of the information on our Group Leaders page.

E-punching will be in use, and (provisional) course details are now posted. The woods are quite open, and depending on weather (and snow/ice conditions) this may be a reasonable place for those contemplating moving up a level in course difficulty. Ask at registration for latest course conditions if you'd like advice on this.

Additional information:

• There is a $5 per vehicle entrance fee to this park.
• Pets entering the park must be on a leash of six feet or less at all times.
• GPS watches will be available to borrow for the event from Jon Torrance.
• Ted Good will conduct another Advanced Training session at 10:30am. Topic will be common time wasters and how to avoid them.
• Ted's Recommended Training Activity at this Venue: This is the best meet to prepare for the U.S. Champs in North Carolina. With that in mind treat this event like it was an A meet. Practice the pre-race preparation covered at the last training session, pick one of the common time wasters at this training and reduce time lost, and focus on proper route choice selection.

Nearby Attraction: The National Museum of the Marine Corps is open from 9am - 5pm everyday, and admission is free to this impressive $60 million structure.
