Robious Landing Park Night-O

On Friday, 28 October 2011, a Night-O was held in Robious Landing Park in Chesterfield County, southwest of Richmond, VA. The event was held on a SUPER 1:5,000 full color map revised by Mark Walmsley. (Thanks Mark!) Inspite of the cold, rainy weather (temps in the 40s), 21 people braved the cold rain and dark night to run the course in 12 starts. The venue was a Halloween Special in a Score-O format with no time limit and the 20 controls at the Yellow/Orange level. Thanks go to Kristi Orcutt for getting the permit, reserving the Shelter, typing and printing the Clue cards and Punch cards, bringing some decorations, setting some controls, and notifying the police that we would be in the park after hours. Thanks go to Alec Richardson for setting and decorating most of the controls, and buying and bringing most of the decorations. Thanks goes to Ellen Stefaniak for advertising the meet, feeding the Meet Crew, and bringing both decorations and that all important HALLOWEEN CANDY! Yum! Thanks also to Ellen, Kristi, and Alec for warmly greeting everyone, putting the maps together, and providing instruction and assistance to the newcomers. Finally, thanks go to Kara Chaconas and Ruth McDorman for coming out the next day to pick up the wet, soggy, controls and decorations in a speedy 42 minutes and delivering them to the Rockwood Nature Center for their Halloween event. Thanks everybody - we could not do this without you! The results:
